Arun Jaitley who was the Finance Minister in the last cabinet requested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to include him in the new cabinet so that he could look after his health. This will most likely pave the way for BJP president Amit Shah to take on as the new Finance Minister. BJP veteran Sushma Swaraj and Suresh Prabhu sat out of the government.
