Bleed and Burn

I bleed and I burn,
In the agony of the pain,
Inflicted upon me,
By these fellow men and women.

I bleed and I burn,
Like a Samaritan who is hanged
Labelled as witch for being different,
For being courageous to talk about the taboos
On which they wouldn’t open their sealed lips,
For standing against the myths they have made a reality of.
For the people she fought for
This made people in the hierarchy afraid,
Of her wisdom and brave.

I bleed and I burn,
Because this is who I am,
A woman with a bleeding womb,
And a Phoenix with the burning fire
Who will burn all those myths,
All those stigmas,
Who for centuries have left us women agonized, and alone to bear this civilisations “honorable” weight.

I still bleed and I still burn,
Because
I am a woman and I refuse to break.
