College Admissions: Nothing But Eye-Openers For Those Freshly Out Of School

After the entrance exam season ends, comes the season of results. And then, comes counselling season.

With lakhs of people seeking admissions in their dream colleges, there exists only a minor portion of the ones who actually get in.

College admissions are the real eye openers for the youth. This is the first time most of us are going to be away from home, amidst the harsh realities of life. While competing in schools was never so stressful, each of us has to now face national level competition.

“Should I drop a year?”

“I should have studied harder!”

“How the hell can he score so much?”

“Why are all cutoffs so high?”

Eye-openers. This is our reality – with millions aspiring for a few thousand seats, this misery repeats each year.

You are planning a vacation, shopping for your college wardrobe and wondering whether you will get your desired college or not, all at the same time.

This is the last time we actually spend time with our parents and probably make an effort to understand where they’re coming from. This is the last time it seems easy to get rewards. And the first time we worry about jobs and salaries.

Not school, college admissions and the subsequent 4-5 years are the actual test: the crash course of life, summed up with a degree.

My admission counselling starts in 2 weeks, when does yours begin? Wishing you all the best for admissions!
