In Mumbai, Kapil Kaustubh Sharma Unveils His New Film On LGBTQ Lives

On the last day of the Kashish Film Festival in Mumbai, the team behind the “Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyu” series recently gave fans a sneak-peek into their latest installment of the series, “Dunno Y: Love is Love”. Director Kapil Kaustubh Sharma, along with some members of his crew, film actress Kitu Gidwani, and Mona Ambegaonkar presented before the audience the trailer.

Kashish is the only running LGBTQ film festival and gives a chance to people of the LGBTQ community to showcase their talents and capabilities. “Dunno Y Na Jane Kyu” is the longest running LGBTQ film franchise and has a three-segment of “Dunno Y: Love is Love” coming up. It starts Zarina Wahab, Kitu Gidwani, Mona Ambegaonkar, Yuvraaj Parashar (who also produced the show), Bidita Bag, Shahjahan, and the director as well.

Kashish Film Festival holds great respect and admiration in my heart because of the history we share together,” Kapil Kaustubh Sharma told me. He went on to say, “We used to attend almost all the film festivals held each year and it has given us the confidence we needed to showcase our talent and strengths. It gives a platform to people who need it and uplifts them to where they can showcase and also be seen.”

The director explained that he wanted to share the first look of the movie at Kashish, because it was a space that “understands our roots and wants to make the audience here feel special. We are going to release the trailer digitally and theatrically later for the rest of the audience, but were persistent from the beginning of this film festival. I hope people here liked it and the movie gets a great response worldwide.
