Stress management is all about taking charge of your lifestyle, thoughts and emotions. You can relieve the pressure and regain control no matter how stressful a situation may seem!

Here Are Some Simple Steps You Can Start Following Today

Start A Stress Journal

It helps identify the regular stressors in your life and the way you deal with them. Keep track of what stresses you out; you will begin to see patterns and common stressors.

Write down the cause of your stress, how it makes you feel physically and emotionally, how you deal with common stressors, and how you make yourself feel better!

Stand Strong In The Face Of Challenges

Practise saying “no.” You should know your limits and stick to them. Whether in your personal or professional life, taking on more than you can handle is not a good idea. No one should have power over your emotions, so if someone consistently causes stress in your life, limit the amount of time you spend with that person.

Take Control Of Your Environment

Organise your room, turn off the news, play your favourite music, read books; you can also add aroma and calming fragrances to your room.

Another great way to destress is to practise meditation and follow a daily hobby. These activities will not only elevate your mood but also change your perspective!

Ensure you have a healthy sleep and morning routine; the energy at the start of the day often decides how we feel throughout the day. If you are feeling full of energy in the morning then you will possibly combat stress better.

Connect With Others When You Need Help

Sometimes our perspective is clouded by our defences and a situation might seem overwhelming;  connect with the people you trust and seek help from them when you feel you can’t manage on your own.

Be Prepared For Change

Express your feelings instead of bottling them up, because building resentment is unhealthy. Be willing to compromise if you want the other person to compromise! Take changes as they come and don’t try to fight what you can’t control.

Eat Healthy Food

Drink more water! Eating a diet high in vegetables, fruit, legumes, whole grains, and lean protein can be helpful if you’re dealing with stress.

And last but not least, smile more often!
