“Though I’m happy with the results, it bothers me that people have voted based on the bigger picture of Modi’s leadership and not their local candidate” says Shubham, a first time voter from Varanasi. Others like Aman from Ayodhya fully revel in what is to him a definitive Modi sweep, “Everyone wanted Modi to be P.M. I think even the Opposition wanted him to be P.M as even Mulayam Singh once said he wishes so.”
In a special finale of the first-time voter series, we go back to the youth of Bundelkhand we interviewed pre-elections. Happy, content, anxious and hopeful was the general mood among the youngsters in the hinterland as they expect more jobs, inclusiveness and the reach of development closer home.
