In Jharkhand, 65 thousand para-teachers might lose their jobs after the government’s order for an inquiry into their reinstatement.

It all started when a case of wrongful restoration of 458 teachers in Palamau’s Nodihah market and Chhatarpur block came out. Taking cognizance of the matter, the government then decided to conduct an inquiry into the restoration of the entire state.

It will be ascertained in the investigation whether the procedure prescribed for the appointment was followed or not.

The government has ordered the DCs of all the districts to conduct an inquiry on behalf of the Jharkhand Education Project Council. The Palamu Deputy Commissioner has been instructed, as per the DDC report, that if any irregularity in the restoration of the meritorious teachers is found, the teachers should be removed from the position by stopping their honorarium.

The council also fears discrepancies in other blocks of the state. In such a situation, all the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to form a committee headed by DDC for further investigation.

Special emphasis has been given to investigation in five districts. These include Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Devghar, and Sahibganj. The government has received the highest number of complaints related to restoration from these districts.

The committee will check the following criteria:
1. Whether the advice was received from the Village Education Committee and the Block Education Committee in the restoration.
2. Whether the recommendations from the district level committee were implemented or not.
