In the image-saturated world, we live in today, we come across a lot of photos of bodies, but not all kinds of bodies get represented in these images.
This phenomenon causes a lot of people to not feel comfortable in their own skin, yet most of us are afraid to talk about it.
Hence, the people at The Plane Jar Welfare Foundation came together to record a series of podcasts on the issues of body image and body positivity; hoping to start a dialogue, especially among youngsters who are more susceptible to having a poor body image due to higher use of social media.
We invited a bunch of individuals to share their journeys and their experiences to cover various aspects of coming to terms with your bodies such as gender dysphoria, sexuality and societal expectations.
The Plane Jar hopes to create awareness about abuse, mental health and the LGBTQIA community and has a strong network that helps them help those in need.
Watch the first part of the Podcast below. Stay tuned for the next parts, and for more podcasts that’ll cover an even wider range of topics!
