“When the base is weak,” says essayist Atma Ram, “everything remains weak in later year…” to call for extrapolation into components for constricting a life base. When childhood is a base for the later life stages, education is merely deemed to mend, as a base, the life; if not, a marred life is to be anticipated. That’s why acquiring knowledge from cradle to grave is recommended obligingly. Admittedly, life development requires a constant base that rests on education. Thus, the relationship between education and development becomes inseparable.
The base of all achievements – education, can be concrete through many methods. Its ripe fruit can be tasted when the aim emerges sincerely for individual and then social development. Certainly, every action is headed by the ultimate intention; this can be implemented by the supreme power of education. A direct action can’t peck at the ignorance prevailing over society, but an intentional instrument is expected. Education is perceived, through historical experience, to take this place. Thus education can be counted as a roof for individual improvement and social development.
Education is an institution which helps nature lift up society to a prime, because it plays a part to cure all kinds of chronic epidemics that prevail in society and quarantines it to avail development. It is indispensably notable that a strategy that doesn’t focus on the individual cannot cope up with social empowerment for we are a heavily populated world.
A short perusal of historical flexibility can stand witness in a healthy way to explore the glorious gap between education and illiteracy. For instance, today Kerala seems to appear as an example for all other states in terms of education and culture as it holds the highest literacy rate, but with a flashback, such a presence of a sordid stench of illiteracy and backwardness is smelled and felt. The reason for such transformation hides behind the interlude of the arduous journey of education. Now it stands for ‘the society is the aim, and education is an unavoidable tool to make this aim come true.’
Knowledge – the process of education, is the only powerful tool which can be used to break the chain of mediocrity and lead a better life. Nelson Mandela had dreamt higher than this that made him state, “Education is the most powerful tool which you can use to change the world,” because, education helps one ‘to think globally and work individually.’ The theme ‘to be the change I want to make’ always pushes one towards attaining and spreading affordable education.
The human mind specifies for it to have a unique entity for gradual development or evaluation. Daily updating depends on increasing knowledge resources. This process led them to create a human bastion to look after others. In other words, education occupies the identity of a human being; their education educates others. Thus, a chain of their achievements is enlarged; it is known to sustain the universe.
Not only intellectual development, but also moral enlightenment is possibly perused behind the educational dimension. Education is a transformation of the individual, social and moral attributes from the less favourable stage of stagnation to a fairly festive state of dynamism. It produces all kinds of developments whether economic, political, material and spiritual. To sum up, the development traces education without time constraints and keeps the knot fragile.
Education helps one cut off the clutches of frailty and get back from the dark abyss to the daylight of a new life. At last, a new generation emerges – the fruit of an educated one. It is strengthened thus that human education increases by educating further. This clarifies the theory that the world renews itself by inventing educational prospects. This is called the journey of a human being; the journey is full of convolution for it is projected for invention and further exploration.
It is of paramount importance to include educational steps into the circle of political dimension following the current circumstances for further progress. In this method, social development will be dually charged. If political decision for development and educational aim occur together, an unexpected change is foretold.
Educational commitments, if cross the learning boundary, can do much for society. At first, an educational and social interaction is required for the combined result; that’s why the relationship between education and social development cannot be denied. All missions of an educated life will be in vain to mend a damaged society, provided the education is not turned into real actions.
