Hip-Hop Star R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty In A New York Sex Crime Case

Internationally acclaimed hip-hop star R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty in a Brooklyn, New York courtroom to the accusations of recruiting underage women and then sexually abusing them.

The court has, however, denied the 52-year-old music professional bail because the government attorneys feel that he is too much of a flight risk and so he will be kept in custody till the trial is in the pending phase.

Apart from the latest New York City sex trafficking case, Kelly is facing more than 20 trials for the sexual felonies that he reportedly committed. According to R. Kelly, all of these sex abuse allegations are undoubtedly untrue.

R Kelly breaks down in explosive first interview since arrest

Last month, the controversial personality was arrested by the police officials and then sometime later about two separate charges were filed against him in the city of Chicago as well as Brooklyn, NY.

The prosecutors are alleging that the musician and his associates were involved in a scheme that recruited underage girls and then transferred those girls over state lines mostly for sexual objectives, including the creation of child pornography.

R. Kelly, on various occasions, has also been accused of conspiracy to obstruct justice by going to severe lengths such as destroying evidence and even trying to bribe or threaten witnesses to save himself in sexual crime cases filed against him.

A six-episode documentary series which was aired in the U.S. in early 2019 triggered many of the lawsuits that were recently filed against R. Kelly. As of now, he has faced only one trial for his sex crimes in 2008, where he was acquitted of the charge of making child pornography.
