Poem: Is It Just Insomnia?

Representational image.

Is it just insomnia?
It’s 3: am
Me at the roof-top
Staring at the moon
Listening one song on repeat,
Tornado in my head and you are in every thought
Is it just insomnia?
Memories become alive
Heartbeat becomes slow
Summer days,
but I felt the cold
Breath becomes heavier
Trying not to lose myself
Again,
A part of me becomes numb
Is it just insomnia?
Smile fades somehow
Tears rolled down,
Over my cheeks
But a part of me
Holds the broken pieces
Together,
No one beside me
But I can hear your name,
As loud as thunder
Is it just insomnia?
Want to erase
Every single moment
Which holds you in it
Chemicals in my bloodstream,
Burning like hell
The pain,
I know what it is like
When we were together
But now,
Things changed
Silence is hard to break
And you are not you
Anymore,
No ray of hope
Darkness spreads
And me,
Figuring out my presence
Is it just insomnia?
