Only Time Will Tell How The Abrogation Of Article 370 Works Out In Kashmir

Today’s hot debate topic is nonetheless Kashmir after the end of its special status on August 5, but is it really a fatal move like it’s being stressed?

JDU, an ally of BJP, has opposed the recent move of scrapping Article 370. Defending his party’s views, the Janata Dal United leader Pawan Verma said, “We believe the manner in which Article 370 has been revoked, needs for all of us to ponder to understand what could be the larger consequences of such an action in the manner it has been taken in the world’s largest democracy.”

While MIM president A. Owaisi said, “This move is the third historic mistake made by the country. The second folly was rigging the 1987 elections in J&K, and the first blunder was committed by arresting Sheikh Abdullah in 1953.”

The move was shocking for Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Ghulam Nabi Azad. By force of imagination and reason, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid out the possibilities of higher dimensions in his simple utterances at the floor of the House. He maintained that scrapping Article 370 would bring an end to the bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir.

There are so many factors which shape good or bad situations for reaching a final decision. Those supporting the move were confidently claiming it to be a bold step, but those who are opposing it are calling it an illogical move. This step might be right for business because the chances of developing the scenic spots there are vital now.

The human mind is still mostly a mysterious puzzle, despite our endeavours and pretensions in understanding the functioning of the brain. Though we have been making every effort to learn more about the natural functioning of the brain, we are tirelessly trying to reach a conclusion. Similarly, if the government has decided to bifurcate Kashmir into Union Territories, there must have been some thought for its betterment behind the step. PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti said that the ruling party wants to change the demography of Muslim-dominated Kashmir. Only time will tell.
