Modi Addresses The Nation On Article 370: Promises A Bright Future For Kashmiris

Modi Victory

On Thursday, 8th August 2019 Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Article 370, that gave Jammu and Kashmir a special status. During his speech, PM Modi addressed that Article 370 was the biggest issue for the state’s development. He expressed that the people of J&K and Laddakh were unaware of many rights. He explained that after the removal of Article 370 from J&K a new era would begin in the state. He congratulated all the Indians. His claim is that the main reason behind this step is only to make Jammu and Kashmir a part of new India (development). He explained that no one in our country knew how Article 370 benefited J&K.

He shared that approximately 40,000 people have lost their lives because of terrorism. With this immediate step, the police of J&K will get benefits. Jammu and Kashmir’s girls will also get more facilities similar to girls in other states.

“The rights enjoyed by the daughters of other regions were not enjoyed by the daughters of Jammu and Kashmir,” said PM Modi.

He further added that this would improve the education system of J&K and also provide a new path to Kashmiri youths. Article 370 was hampering growth in the state. There are many facilities that are provided in other states such as minorities act that benefits minority sections but the people of J&K were not aware of these acts.

Modi added that even the labourers of Jammu and Kashmir were not aware of the minimum wages act. He promised that the military, police and others would get the same facilities as other states in India enjoy. The Government would now provide health schemes, educational facilities, scholarships, central schemes and many more benefits to J&K. He promised that rail-lines and trade will begin in the state.

Modi also promised all the people of J&K, and Laddakh that they will get the right to choose their leaders. Elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir very soon. J&K is now a UT but it is only on a temporary basis but Laddakh will continue to be a UT.

PM Modi said that the government will request the Hindi film industry as well as Tollywood to open theatres there and to shoot movies there without any hesitation. I think theatres will benefit to their local culture. Other states will be aware of their culture and dances.

In my opinion, Article 370 only encouraged terrorism. Now J&K will become a part of new India. It will give strength to local youths in the field of education, jobs etc., they may now become aware of many latest technologies. Many IT sectors and firms may open there and that will create more jobs for locals as well as other students. It is a great step to end terrorism.
