Vellore By-Poll Result: Influenced By The Triple Talaq Bill?

It seems like the Vellore Lok Sabha by-election has been decided on an anti-BJP campaign in this figuratively favored constituency. It is a city in the state of Tamil Nadu, in the southern part of the country. It is known for the 16th century Vellore Fort with its imposing granite walls and surrounding moat.

As the parliamentary constituency has a sizeable Muslim population, the widely discussed Triple Talaq matter in the Parliament has seemingly had a great impact or highly influenced the electorates to a considerable extent in this concluded by-poll. That’s why the DMK candidate’s victory was affected. This was becoming clear with the votes difference widening during the several rounds of counting. The reports made it perfectly clear that the losing party AIADMK had supported the Center on the issue of the recently passed Triple Talaq Bill in the Lok Sabha. Now the poll results showed it perfectly with the political party supposing its success in the electoral fight for the prestigious seat. The Muslim population appeared to have rejected the party’s stand and the DMK party won by a margin of over 8000 votes. This was finally declared after completion of the necessary poll process. There were also reports that the AIADMK members thoughtfully changed their earlier stance during the discussions over the important bill in the upper house of the Parliament in view of the impending by-election.

Delighted and emboldened by remarkably achieving the success in the poll, the DMK leaders seemed to have projected their latest victory owing to the opposition of the union government policies. However, the AIADMK leaders expressing their views pointed out that they did not lose their party’s vote share in this poll as it remained completely unimpaired.

Strangely enough, Vellore by-poll had been canceled by the Election Commission, over cash seizures made from the premises of DMK treasure Kathir Anand’s house in Vellore, on March 29. It looks like the son of Durai Murugan, Kathir Anand, earned sympathy votes amid raids too.
