Mumbai Metro Commuters Fail To Recognise Akshay Kumar During Rush Hour

Chandrayaan-2 that was supposed to perform something marvellous has set our eyes in space. But why should we gaze beyond the living planet? Just look steadily and intently at your surroundings, and you will realize that everything happens for a reason. Don’t you agree that this is an open and clear idea?

Connecting this point with the recent news stories about two film actors moving in different states, many of us would be wondering how the film actors do not get due attention sometimes. There must be a reason metro commuters did not recognise Akshay Kumar on the Ghatkopar-Versova line in Mumbai recently. And similarly, there must be a reason locals recognised Saif Ali Khan, who was asking for directions on his way to the Pataudi Palace a few days ago.

Both the tinsel town actors are widely known, but one of them remained unidentified despite sitting for about 20 long minutes on the corner seat of the mêtro train. Actor Akshay Kumar even shot a video and shared his novel experience on Twitter. Wearing a sun cap, he maintained his calm during the ride, though he accepted that a crowd surrounded him. Oddly enough, nobody seemed to have realised that this was “Akshay Kumar”.

Just opposite to this, the locals easily recognised Saif Ali Khan, and he even clicked photos with them smiling. Incidentally, Saif Ali Khan lost his way after taking a wrong turn and had to ask locals to help him figure out the route. He arrived at the market by mistake. Stepping out of his car, he asked the locals for the right directions. The locals were quite surprised to see him but extended their help anyway. Mumbai Mirror reported that some good Samaritans even accompanied him to the main gate of the Pataudi Palace.

If people are not caring to look at the film actors, how did they identify one actor somewhere in Haryana but failed to recognise another travelling in the metro? Should we perceive that it is because one of them has the potential to turn into a political figure while another lacks it in toto?. Even the not-so-famous actors are easily recognised if they happen to fall under the gaze of people!

Akshay Kumar’s non-identification looks totally surprising. This matter specifies something in particular indirectly—which is difficult to analyse currently/immediately. Perhaps a film critic can analyse this correctly. The famed actor saved sufficient time by taking a 20-minute metro ride, but what was really missed was the commuters’ attention. He got success in completing his short journey without being identified. This was the beauty of his metro ride on the advice of his director. Does it endorse the actor’s aesthetic sense? Is his real face different from his reel one? Is that why Mumbaikars did not care to look at him? Surprisingly, he did not even wear make-up to hide his face as Amitabh Bachchan had while moving in the lanes of old Lucknow, a few months ago.
