In The Race To Save Our Planet, We Must Pay Attention To The Youth

We, and no one else, are the ones responsible for destroying the ecosystem. I’m appalled by the inhumane behaviour towards the climate. Climate change is going to harm our planet, our health, our economy, our education system, our wealth, our entire life. We should be interrogating the government over this issue, for how long they will manipulate us and play with our lives. Not just our country but the entire world is in grave danger.

Let me consider the example of the girl who came under the limelight after her speech in the General Assembly. We have stolen her dreams, that’s what Greta Thunberg declared in the United Nations General Assembly at the Climate Action Summit. For some, she became an inspiration, and for the rest, an “annoying little brat”.

We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!” she thundered, her voice on the edge of tears. Likewise, thousands of teenagers are fighting today, against the slaughter of millions of children. The world either totally ignores them, or it mocks and vilifies them. Activists like her are the real symbols of rebellion, but nevertheless, are crushed by the elites and mocked by the commoners.

Once, Barack Obama said, “We are the first generation to feel the effect of climate change and the last generation who can do something about it.” The world needs to contemplate this burning issue since time is running out. So, it’s high time we realise our mistakes and work on bettering our future.
