Science: A Blessing Or A Curse?

Everything has two faces – either good and bad.

In the world of spirituality, they’re called angel and evil, while they are known as positive and negative powers, respectively, in Chemistry. In our life, they show up as profit and loss or benefit and burden. Following the same method, science today bears a question mark whether it is a blessing or a curse.

In every stance of the aforesaid paragraph, some pairs bearing two attributes were mentioned to highlight the paradoxical features of everything. The first attribute of every pair is a blessing while the second is curse. Everything in its origin was designed as blessing. Later, it produced its side-effect after being effected by malpractice. So it is not wrong to deftly say ‘Science – a blessing and a curse’ in comparison to ‘Science – a blessing or a curse’. It has been effected by utilisation and has married ‘curse’ to the ‘blessing’.

It is unjust to blame science when we rely on it for everything. Even our sleeping is accustomed to take help from science. But, we cannot forget that we have lost the past passion and power of human body in the stream of physical face. Science has made our dead parts come alive and sensible, for instance when now a blind can see, a deaf can hear and lame can walk in stance. Here, we forget the loss of human sovereignty in nature when the extensive production has deteriorated their surrounding beauty through pollution and other out-breaks. Science has won human distance and time and made their transportation and communication easy but, altruism and sincerity have been harmed indirectly. It has created further distance among each other and even the constant contact is sustained with the void of purity.

Science has helped human in the security but, it has begot the essence of broad friendship and made incidents as accidents. A blast humiliates the presence of human for the humanity not present in him. The intention behind the invention of dynamites was to mitigate the matter of hills but it is rare to work pursuing it today. Instead, it has created a heap of human bodies killing humanity in effect. Thus, science has helped humans in their dynamic enrichment in the field of education, medicine, astronomy, technology etc. but, it has left humans poor of their actual sense and essence. Humans themselves are responsible for this consequence, and not science. It is their greediness and egoism that got them to explore the pros and cons both. No need to regret more; perhaps the saying “one step forward and two steps back” is a reality.

It is still not late. Human have discovered the ill-effects and they can be curbed still. Science will be their servant always if humans keep up their dealing. At last, I wish for it to be remembered again that modernity has come up with a big share of science, but multiple matters have been updated behind this. So, it is not the ultimate option to avoid science but to keep up with it normally. Science takes two faces before two men; the first, using it as a blessing while the second, utilizing it in a manner that it becomes a curse. Through either of these two methods does this world run.

Thus, in a societal spectacle, science shows up both, as a blessing and a curse.
