Love yourself first, then only all the other things will fall into place!

Being busy in this world is the most common thing nowadays. We are so busy that we barely get time for ourselves. We often become dull and dissatisfied with ourselves and thus develop negativity around ourselves. We hardly get any “ME” time. It’s respectable that we fulfil all our duties, but forgetting ourselves is simply not justified.

To keep a balance in our lives and to keep us going, we need time for relaxation and creativity. This relaxing may or may not be with our family. Everyone has the right to have their own time. Self-care is one of the requirements that all of us need in this busy schedule. Whether you are a working professional, student or housewife, everyone needs time to relax. Like we need to detoxify our body, in the same way, we need our own time to detoxify our minds and make them active again.

We are overworked and exhausted most of the time. It’s essential that we take care of ourselves— first, for our own well-being, but also because of any effort one puts into self-care also has huge payoffs for our families. When we “fill our own cups,” then we have more patience, energy, and passion for our families.

A few self-care strategies to help strengthen relationships, be compassionate, and renew your energy:

  1. You can plan a day outing or a short trip with people with whom you can enjoy to the fullest. Sometimes spending time with friends and family helps us feel more relaxed and can help us get our peace of mind back.
  2. If you are married or in a relationship, then a romantic date at home with your partner can also do wonders. Sometimes spending time with our loved ones is the only thing we want/need.
  3. Exercise or meditation also helps to achieve peace of mind. If you get up early in the morning before you get ready for your busy day, try out exercise or meditation.
  4. After diamonds, the thing that can make women feel relaxed is a spa or a salon trip. Many women prefer to go to the salon instead of going to a movie or for lunch. This actually uplifts their mood.
  5. Last but not least, one lazy day is all we need. Order food from outside, be in your pyjamas and JUST DO NOTHING. One lazy day, forget all your tension, cancel all your plans and just think about yourself and pamper yourself like a king or a queen. Then only you can feel energetic and relaxed.

We can only look after our families when we are at peace. Peace is very important for everyone, even if it requires one to get detached from the outer world for some time. It is important to give time to all the other things in our lives, but it is also important to take care of yourself.

When you make self-care a vital part of your life, then the kindness you show to yourself infuses into your life and the life of your family. It will provide a model for your child and make the path for you to achieve your goals and those of your family so much smoother.
