We are but a tiny ‘thing’ in this enormous universe
But our little impressions are far-reaching, far away from the Milky Way.
We can’t glide like the albatross
But we can conquer the sky by flying higher and faster.
We surely can’t sprint like a cheetah
But we can tear past forests, towns, farmlands, mountains and rivers,
Leaving behind heated metals or tar.
We can’t swim like the dolphins
But we can sail to the end of the world aimlessly.
We certainly cannot pollinate like the bees
But we can manufacture grains mindlessly.
Our body definitely can’t produce wonder drugs or antibiotics
But we can fight epidemics relentlessly.
We can do many things which our erstwhile Homo sapiens couldn’t even think of
Yet we are drifting away from simplicity, forgetting and discarding the wheel.
We have done things which have helped us gain comfort, luxury and advancement.
But in the process, we have failed to realise that we have lost many precious things,
Some life forms and a few natural processes.
Yet we aren’t ready to accept our heinous deeds.
Little do we admit that we are rotting with ego and putrefying the nature by our ‘revolutionary’ evolution
To err is human, humans rally, but nature hits back, it doesn’t forgive like God.
In the end, what stays is, as they say, how much we have given back.
And we like traitors have only sucked and returned nothing.
Our eternal refusal to our never-ending crime is just another trait
Of those who enjoy the highest of powers, as in politics.
Our suppressing act is a joy to us as we have reached ‘self-actualisation’ by reaching the ‘top of the pyramid’.
Lions and tigers can drag elephants and gaurs to death
But we can trigger death in a millisecond with a pull of a trigger.
This is how life is, but this is not how it was meant to be
In this crucible of nature, we as creatures have failed miserably.
We have been overcooked by greed in a crucible blackened with shame.
We are but lower than the lowest of life forms whom we crush under our feet.
We are pathogens who have diseased our world,
And yet we will celebrate our arrival, on the doomsday, with pride;
As humans we are, we take pride in profanation, by rephrasing it to growth, sometimes development
We are a dying breed in this half murdered planet
We are a suicidal lot sabotaging our very own and only ‘home’ for short term material gains.
Materials will disintegrate into nowhere and we will be forever branded as fools;
Fools who preach tools for survival,
Fools who invented schools for brainwashing,
Fools who pretend to be a pool of intellectuals,
Fools who bend the rules of the indomitable nature.
We are the fools whose worthless footprints will be washed away into the darkness
Tiny fools; what a pity!
