Why The Trailer Of ‘The Sky Is Pink’ Looks Promising To Me

Aisha Chaudhary

The Sky Is Pink is an upcoming Bollywood biographical movie directed by Shonali Bose under the banner of RSVP Movies, Purple Pebble Pictures, and Roy Kapur Films. It stars Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Rohit Saraf, and Zaira Wasim. The movie is set to release on October 11, 2019. It is a highly anticipated movie and can prove to be a great one.

The Plot

The movie is a biography of a family that had to struggle a lot due to their daughter, Aisha’s lung disease, but never gave up. Farhan and Priyanka play the characters of two people who fall in love with each other but the latter gets accidentally pregnant. They decide to get married and raise the child together. Everything seems to be going good for them until they come across a menace, a deadly lung disease that their daughter is suffering from. This creates a lot of disturbance in the family and the parents start playing the blame game with each other. Even after all this, the family never gives up. This is the main plot of the film and it is based on a true story.

The Trailer

The trailer starts with a girl introducing us to a love story. A love story that is tragic, the love story of her ‘Panda’ and ‘Moose’ (nicknames she gave to her parents). We see a couple (Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra) going through different stages of a relationship. There are many hilarious scenes in the trailer like when the couple is seen talking to each other on a vintage phone and getting caught by their parents; Aisha cracking a joke about her parents getting divorced, and so on

The trailer is all hugs, laughter, and kisses until the narrator says, “and like in every love story, they also confronted a villain, bringing tragedy to their lives. In this case, I was the villain.”

It is then revealed that the narrator is actually their grown-up daughter, suffering from busulfan lung damage, who can now be seen coughing and struggling to breathe in a hospital bed. The hugs, laughter, and kisses turn into fights, disputes, and disses. But just after a fraction of second, happy music starts playing in the background while the family can be seen having fun. That seems like a different time and circumstance of the couple’s life. The trailer ends with ‘Moose’ and her daughter going down an escalator in a mall when the daughter (Zaira Wasim) asking ‘Moose’ a question that startles her.

The trailer was premiered on Wednesday morning (September 11, 2019)  on the official YouTube channel of RSVP Movies and it amassed 1.6M views in a small time span of seven hours. The trailer has also got 69K likes and over 3,000 comments which shows that people are really excited about the movie and they are talking about it already.

Conclusion

The trailer shows that the movie has a gripping story and it proves to be true to its work by gathering such a huge amount of views in the first seven hours. People seem to be very excited about the movie and can’t wait to experience such a compelling tale of love and family. Of course, I am also going to catch the first-day-first-show to experience a tale that can prove to be a hard hitter. However, only time can tell how it turns out.
