Samajwadi Party Files Petition Seeking Shivpal Yadav’s Disqualification From UP Assembly

This piece is on a political party’s prospects. It is surely not a hypothetical conception but based on a factual news report.

There is a possibility for the Samajwadi Party (SP) to gain some seats in the coming U.P. assembly by-elections. Maybe because of this analysis, ex-Chief Minister Akhilesh Singh Yadav foresees an unusual and surprising win. He is upbeat as he expects positive prospects in the coming days.

Yadav’s prospects get strength in his uncle Shivpal Yadav’s political frailty. The more his uncle turns weaker on the political front; the better are Akhilesh’s chances. This very trend dominates among the Samajwadi party leaders. Keeping this in mind, Akhilesh Yadav’s party petitioned to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly to cancel Shivpal Singh Yadav’s membership. It is being assumed in the party circles that his supporters will automatically flock towards the main party if the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSPL) leader weakens politically. Shivpal has no political value without the support of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. That’s why his membership is being snatched.

Overall, the political pundits maintain that the SP will ultimately gain in the ensuing by-elections, adding that the future of other political parties like the Congress or the BJP does not look as much bright in view of the political atmosphere developing in U.P. Then the moot question remains, will Shivpal Singh Yadav stand with the SP by merging his party? Or, will Akhilesh Yadav force him to retire from politics? Hopefully, that will not be the case. Animosity among the family members, one can assume, will not last long and young Akhilesh Yadav will surrender before his father’s request. How can the U.P.’s ex-Chief Minister not give in to his aged uncle’s wishes?
