Meet The Ambitious Entrepreneur Who Is Ensuring That Balochistan Is Represented Globally

Balochistan has been known as the province of chaos. Ever since partition, the ex-princely state has struggled with the central governments of many eras, wreaking riots and insurgency. While this has been going on, the Balochi community has suffered the most. They were robbed of opportunities that an average Pakistani would get. It is difficult for a Balochi to be considered equal to an average Pakistani. Among this rubble of hardships, rose Chiragh Baloch, a digital entrepreneur, whose projects are representing the Balochi community around the world. He is also a Youtuber, a musician, and an actor.

An inspiration to many Balochis, he is the founder of many startups, namely, VshGap, BalochHost and BalochTech. His projects focus on the representation of the Balochi community, giving them the opportunity to represent themselves on the international platform. In Pakistan, where representation is an issue for minorities, and even more so for the Balochis, he developed WhatsApp Stickers for the Balochi Community and continues to work and represent them around the world.

His most prized possession is BalochTech, an organisation that serves as a platform for young students to showcase their tech talents, and helps them with counselling and mentoring to further their dreams in the tech industry. He organised BalochTech Vision in 2017, targeting Balochi students to pursue their dreams of IT-related professions.

He is also a Youtuber; initially, what started as making vine videos for fun, quickly turned into a passion. He is a vlogger and has his own show “The Chiragh Baloch Show” that features on his YouTube channel. In his show, he showcases different Balochi actors, singers, poets and artist. He provides them with a platform that others will not.

We need more people like Chiragh Baloch. The kind of people that will stand up against the odds and do what they want to do, never excusing their circumstances and working hard nonetheless. He is an inspiration not only for the Balochis but also to us. He teaches us that working hard, and focusing on dreams, regardless of our circumstances is better than whining and complaining about our situation.
