Padbank founder Chitransh Saxena was awarded the Karmaveer Chakra Award on October 12, 2019, at IIT Delhi, for his continued efforts to spread awareness about periods among people in Bareilly.
Chitransh said that his nomination came in April 2019, and his selection was confirmed in September. He said that he “wants to give all the credit to the members of his Padbank, and to the people who accepted Padbank and took care of their of menstrual hygiene after listening to us.”
Chitransh is currently pursuing his Master’s in Social Work from Rohilkhand University in Bareilly. He distributed approximately 15,000 pads and has conducted awareness camps in schools, slums, and rural areas.
