Opinion: Is The Aam Aadmi Responsible For The Rich Getting Richer?

Our nation’s economy is at its lowest according to the recent statistical data, newspaper reports and everything that we are surrounded with. The rising inflation haunts us from grocery shopping to buying clothes, electronics, cosmetics or any other consumer goods! However, the entertainment industry is least bothered about it.

Nobody is raising concerns regarding our money which is being sucked from our pockets to provide entertainment. Is it necessary to spend our hard-earned money on buying expensive movie tickets and exorbitant snacks? Are we justifying the usage of our funds, which is of no productive use?

Talking about movies, we can watch it at home by downloading or streaming on OTT platforms with our families and at our ease, after all, everyone has HD LED televisions nowadays and this can make our relations with our loved ones blossom. However, we are ignorant towards this, entertainment is our escape from stress and a social status symbol.

Do we ever think of saving money? Then why do we cry about inflation, money matters, our nation’s economy at an all-time low or discussing economy for which only we are only responsible? If inflation and poor economy are tormenting people, how are they managing to watch a movie every weekend, how are they managing to buy vehicles, electronic gadgets, jewellery?

Such article showrooms are never empty, they are always filled with customers during the festive season, then how is it possible that people are not having money and markets are falling? We common people are accepting that ‘yes, economy is in a poor condition and inflation is rising’ by someone who is making a fool of us. This low economy and inflation are for middle-class families only, not for the high-class ones.

Surprisingly, to think that our economy is weak but our Bollywood actors are getting handsome salaries, bank CEOs, MNC CEOs, PSU managers and directors too are getting a good fee hike, then from where is the question of our economy dipping even arising?

If all these people are facing ‘money problems,’ then the people like us, the common man, should get a Bharat Ratna for surviving in such kind of dire conditions. After all, we are foolish for spending lavishly on entertainment and other unwanted things by which the rich are getting richer and we are dying in the hands of a fallen economy!
