Maharashtra: What Does The Political Drama Say About The BJP?

Uddhav Thackrey and Devendra Fadnavis

Though the technological advancement has changed the world, there is still no parallel of the natural human brain. It works faster than robots and smart computers. Nonetheless, the human brain weighs as many as 1350 grams but can anyone reveal the exact weight of an experienced politician’s brain? Of course, it is too tough to answer.

Even Amitabh Bachchan’s KBC has supposedly not touched this query in the wide interest of the netizens, denizens and citizens? Presently, the political drama in Maharashtra has made countrymen realise the political acumen of quite a senior politician like Sharad Pawar piteously.

In the morning edition of a news daily, a cartoon depicting the big gate of the hotel hinted that the building was the holiest place for safeguarding democracy. Undoubtedly, this funny meaningful cartoon somehow showed the state of Maharashtra’s political situation in a very distinct way. As many as 67% of the public, according to a newspaper survey, still favour the BJP strategy in the formation of the state government.

Amidst past developments, the floor test remains the last option for proving the very much required support of the MLAs. The Shiv Sena spokesperson said they had the numbers totalling to 162. While the BJP asserts it also has adequate numbers. its hollow claim fell flat after the resignation of the Chief Minister Fadnavis.

Now, the BJP was harping at the longevity of the new government. One reviewer told the new government can last a full term of five years and face death in a short span of time. So, there was no certainty on the future of the government. Putting up with a jibe at the Sena-Cong-NCP combine for assembling 162 members at a posh hotel in Mumbai on Monday, the BJP leader Ajay Shelar said such parades in a hotel would not help in proving a majority on the floor, adding that photo is yours, photographers yours but the photo-finish will be ours.

In Arthur Conan Doyle’s short story, The Adventure of Silver Blaze, there was a very famous racehorse named Silver Blaze that was suddenly found to be missing on the eve of an important race. Similarly, one unexpectedly created all the surprising drama which ended. The MLAs of NCP, Shiv Sena and the Congress were administered the oath to remain united and loyal before their respective political parties’ bosses. But like the three witches of Macbeth, the situation frantically continued to generate a deep sense of suspicion, fear and anxiety.
