Women’s turnout in present election

Elections are the formal process and procedure where people choose a person or a group of people for an official position for a determined and a certain time period through casting the ballots in the ballot’s box. The word election is the plural of the word choice which is rooted in Arabic. From 17th decades onward the nations conducted the elections for stabilizing the democracy and equality within their countries. To the extent, elections played an essential role for a democratization of a community, women as half part of the society have paid their shares as well. Women for taking part in the elections not only claimed their citizenship right but they paved the way for a better and brighter future of their country. Afghanistan would be a great instance for examining this process either women in Afghanistan still face numerous obstacles and boundaries and constraints in every part of their life, despite that they had active participation within the community mostly during the elections. According to the existed reports in the 2014 election, nearly 80% of women in Afghanistan were attended. although there were so many harassments and violence like, Taliban, cultural limitations and as well as patriarchy. After the collapses of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan in 2001 alongside of the ratification of the constitution in 2004 by Loya Jirga where they incorporated the republic law into Afghanistan’s constitution which is included of provincial council elections, districts and manipulates based on reports in 2010 parliamentary election more than 2,600 candidates were included and among them nearly 249 seats are recognized and registered for 400 women in all over Afghanistan.
Afghanistan human rights commission has declared that women ‘s participation in the elections is a way of defending their political rights similarly observation and consideration of gender equality. In addition, women by taking part in the election not only receive their political rights but it will guarantee and assure their civil rights as well.
It is said that in the current year’s presidential election no women are registered among the candidates although their presence in the electoral groups was perceived significant and has been impressive in electoral campaigns. Their major demands for current implemented election were _ increase of women’s presence and participation in political, social sectors, empowerment, and capacity building programs as well as authorship of a secure working environment. Therefrom election in Afghanistan has faced challenges consisting of security and transparency, nearby 3.5 million women registered their names. Based on Radio Azadi, 5 thousand polling center has been established in all over the country and there estimated almost one million, one thousand and one hundred fifty-one participants in this election as still there is not a concrete and vivid data and statistics on the number of participants for the recent election.
Women believe in the current implemented election where it will bring a positive change for more perceiving gender equality and equal pay for equal rights. They hope that they attended for this election as policymakers where they no longer have symbolic roles in the government.
