CAB vs Indians.

With  due respect to all the opinions, perspective, subjective matters and also the ignorant ones. I would like to keep forth my opinion and the facts which have been buried from long, into the limelight.

The hot and the heated topic CAB and CAA that needs proper justification and rational thoughts about it. I couldn’t and can’t go further without giving a small introduction about what CAB is all about.

Citizenship amendment bill 2019 states that it will provide Indian citizenship to the six minorities from the countries – Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. These six minorities are – Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, Christian and Sikhs.

• At present, it is mandatory for a person to stay here for at least 11 years to get citizenship of India.

• The bill will reduce this period to six years. It will enable people from these communities to get Indian citizenship in six years.

• It will make some amendments to the Citizenship Act 1955 to provide legal aid for citizenship.

Pretty much clear about the bill. But why these protest, riots  agaisnt this bill? Let me tell you there’s two reason for these riots, protests happening. The North east states and the other students who are revolting against the bill.

*Let’s focus on the north east states who’s concern is that if there is going to be more influx of migrants from Bangladesh then it would cause a threat to its demography. Also they feel like the promise/ deal that was signed between the Assam Accord and  then govt had that the Bangladeshis who were given shelter will be wiped out of the country after a certain period of time.

*Coming back to the our own students, youth’s reason for protesting against the bill is the Muslim community not being added to the community list for the citizenship bill. Opposition parties said that this is a violation of Article 14 of the Constitution, which speaks of the right to equality.

This bill when got passed on both the houses with a majority number didn’t get a pretty much response from the public. The public took it in a different perspective and started to take it on religion basis which led to end numbers of protests, riots, lathi charge, public transport on fire etc etc.

But if it about the Muslims and the discrimination tell me why is the govt taking such a huge step that too so openly. Let me talk what our home minster has in his mind  behind this bill. The Muslims that aren’t included in the list is because the countries from which the people will get the Indian citizenship is already a Muslim dominated country that is only the minorities like Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and the Sikhs will get the citizenship because in the country like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan the minorities include these six communities. So, that is so obvious that how can Indian citizenship can be given to the community which is already in the majority from the above mentioned countries.

In my judgment I feel like our country needs to be more open and get proper information about what is the matter all about. You see there are 3 types of people in this country – first with no knowledge, second with half knowledge and the third with biased knowledge. Heading towards the North east states who are more concerned about their culture and heritage getting harmed and destroyed with the influx of migrants -you guys feel righteous about the mindset you’ll possess. They just need proper information and thorough facts about the bill which stats that there will be no harm caused to the North east states. I personally don’t find the point why there is so much revolt from the student’s side here – as far as I know they are protesting against the  Muslim community. Right? But from where the discrimination came? The bill and the minsters clearly stated that the reason why Muslims are not getting included is because of the majority reason in the above mentioned countries.

Leave the bill. But I feel very disgusted and ashamed to call myself a growing citizen of the country where the people are behaving in  such a way. The youth which is supposed to be the backbone of the country is only breaking it’s culture and tradition. Protest is our right , I agree but harmful protest , isn’t that’s against the Constitution of India?  I don’t understand why these people who are out on roads protesting and doing this gundagiri have to make everything a matter of ‘Hindu – Muslim ‘. Please get over it. Youth is becoming a threat to this country I feel being a youth I accept that boldly. And if you have a problem then please find a better and a peaceful way to seek your answer. And there comes people with no knowledge called as ignorant one. Without any knowledge like what is the bill about, why all of this happening. No, everyone is out on roads so even we will go out. Coming to police it is likewise very shameful on the part of the police to act in such a unconstitutional way. The police surely tried to riverside brutality in some cases agaisnt the student in order to stop them from destroying the public property like buses. In general terms around me people don’t even want to talk about CAB because they are so afraid that if they talk about it openly or on social media they will be a victim of aggressive comments and what not. Even I was one those. Being an aspiring journalist I feel like people should be more rational about things rather than just being blind towards anything just because you are shown and led by some people In a wrong way doesn’t mean we will go on passing false information. You know that is reason why the government isn’t reacting to any of this now (I feel that way). And I totally SUPPORT THE NORTH SIDE people for that matter. They just need proper information and justification for the bill and the act. I feel people need to use their mind instead of looking and coming to any conclusion by just seeing some posts. We are all bias towards some things. Put aside your bias and then read about the issue. Maybe then we can come to conclusion and no! Retaliation is not needed. Harmful protests are not needed. Everyone in this situation is trying to play the victim card may it be police in some cases and students Kn some cases. Just be logical. The youth needs to be the power not hold the power. YOUTH don’t scare the NATION.

Lastly, CAB DOESN’T AFFECT ANY INDIAN CITIZEN NO MATTER WHAT THEIR RELIGION IS.
