Poem: Republic

Republic
People’s society, not a person’s desire,
Things, run of the mill, run by a system still,
Have nots, equal to mascots,
Identity, mask off, hide every last fault,
The neighbours, behind the system,
Berates, parading victims,
You hate, for vivid fiction,
Decays, narrows existence,
Lacks, means to an ends
Feat, peak, off the edge
Unique, superiority
Sense, living majority
Bends, wills, dire perception
Drives, entire conviction
Defines, tribal insistence.

Republic
Hold on to past and the future, resembles peace.
Our time piece, fights each second,
Memories without violence, we have none
Rewind, our minds numb,
Needle, prick, back to the past
Relapse, effective slumber
Cold, dark, Orwellian, dystopian, rebellion
Persists, never ending
Reluctance, to fix, fickle
Their gist, mystical
Policies, defined by Odyssey
Rather microscopic, horror scenes
Seem worthy, justify agro, our culture seeds
Deep rooted hate, red colors the streets
Filled, in-line, stand
The sequence gives a cue
The shtik, breaks a few
Reluctant fundamentalists
The story states a truth
Caves into, a bigger pile of mess
Forget, the rage built through
The years, issues, we had before the end
Colonizers, sought pretence
We still shouted freedom, look up
Pages of history, indelible
Sweat and blood, painting our misery.
