AAP To Retain Power In 2020?

It’s been a tough fight for the BJP and Congress, and now, they might secure only 2nd  and 3rd place, by giving Delhi’s Legislative Assembly to the AAP. Because both fought the election with their hardliners.

One totally opposed CAA and NRC, whereas one fully supported the act and exercise. I think the best thing about the Delhi election is the Delhi model of governance and developmental agenda.

When the vanguard parties of our nation, the INC and right-wing party, BJP, were busy serving the taste of national issues on Delhi’s platter, Delhites opted for Kejriwal’s salad of Governance, as per opinion polls.

Again, like 2015, local issues are helping local parties to gain power in the Capital. If AAP comes to power, this will definitely help Kejriwal to become a bigger face in Northern India’s politics, and furnish his image of an honest politician.

With Narendra Modi as the main stakeholder of the Opposition in Delhi, it is hard to fight with confidence in the Capital. And I think AAP made the best out of it. They showed their purpose of governing Delhi, highlighted the issues of education, healthcare, women safety and transportation.

In my opinion, if Kejriwal is sworn in for the 3rd time as Delhi’s CM, this would definitely help India to strengthen its federal power. A strong Opposition, which only talks about the modern-day necessities, would be helpful for the political scenario of India, especially against barriers that set elections to caste, sex, religion and regionalism.

Delhi looks like a little republic, where you can make a prototype of your idea or vision. Consider the 2013 election in Delhi, which, in my opinion, was a result of alternative political discourse that attracted a mass population, from a period of truce to revolution.

The most powerful leader of Delhi was defeated by a young politician, Arvind Kejriwal with the margin of more than 22000 votes.

The result in 2013 was surprising because no one expected this wonderful performance from the new political party of our country. The vanguard party like INC performed extremely poorly, whereas the chariot of BJP was stopped in Delhi.

Then, Kejriwal was sworn in as the CM of Delhi. He once again came back to power in 2015 but unfortunately faced a lot of backlash from the media, and the ruling party, during his tenure. However, he has continued to focus on the local agenda and people’s issues.

I believe Kejriwal fought this election with a deeper understanding of the BJP and by learning from his mistakes, which is something I identified from his speeches, and election rallies, in 2020.

If opinion polls turn out to be the voice of Delhi, Kejriwal will definitely be sworn in as the CM of Delhi. But what will be the national discourse of AAP, on the pan India level, is something we are yet to see.
