Poem: Cursed In Woods

As the newspaper fell open i was taken aback
i was held with a bitter flashback
The news explained a shameful human action
A group of men harassing a woman

With the news i was broken and upset
The day was clear but my eyes were wet
My heart was racing and i felt numb
What happened years ago still gives me goosebumps

Ten years ago, near a forest like place
He called his love to rest his side of case
He thought the place was perfect to talk
No one is going to disturb them both

But destiny itself is a very big player
Four drunk men came out of nowhere
The presence of lust and evil was evident in their eyes
They headed towards them, towards the girl in precise

Our lover boy took a step and fought to protect his girl
But what happened with him is heartless to be clear
They did not give his nerves a moment to relax
Within seconds they broke his legs with an axe

He fell down with a loud thud
Semi conscious on the ground mud
Before going in state of unconsciousness
He just saw her in a complete mess

After his long sleep was over
His eyes were widely open
He froze in the forest amidst
With what he saw he lost his faith on Christ

She was lying bare but still wearing her blood
With open wounds all over resting down on mud
He tried to hold his heart his pain his senses and his power
His useless try to hold the things which from then cant be held together

With anything which was left inside
He dragged towards her with all his might
Within no time he embraced her into his arms
Crying and shouting to have some calms

Some life was left in him but he was still lifeless
With her he lost his everything his world and his happiness
Starkness of his heart drenched his eyes
he froze for seconds like a statue in disguise

Time has moved on but i did not
She still occupies my thoughts no matter what
Thoughts of that day still stun me
The act of those devils still horrify me

How can men treat women like slaves
When she is a mother, sister, daughter, wife and mother of his braves
When she is the epitome of love dedication and care
Why do they become victims of men for their unmanly desire?
