Quick Byte: “In Kashmir, It’s A Fight Between The Commoners And The Democratic Officials”

For the past few months, we have been witnessing an upsurge in the expression of emotions in the country. On one side, there are commoners of our land, fighting for their right to live peacefully on their own land, and on the other, there are the so-called ‘democratic officials’ who have successfully shifted the fight for right to better education, health, and jobs to merely a fight for their right to live on their own land.

An important question that one can ask here is, how has the world’s largest democracy turned into a dictatorship? The answer to this is quite complex and subjective, but saying that this government is ‘an extremist’ can simplify the answer. Since the very beginning of its rule, this government has  been imposing oneness onto a nation known for its diversity.

An ‘extremist’ is often loosely called a ‘terrorist’, as both of them spew hatred for the sake of imposing their ideologies. However, the roaring roads are demonstrating a ray of optimism during this time of darkness. I hope that our beloved democracy will take the breath of freedom from all those who are chained in their own extremist ideologies. I can only hope.
