Reflect On These 5 Things As You Self Quarantine

As the world battles against the pandemic with a lockdown in almost every country, the people staying at their homes in self-quarantine are getting overwhelmed with the monotony. The extended phase of isolation can either be beautiful, or the biggest nightmare for someone, and with the current situation revolving around uncertainty, it is imperative to find the best in mundane.

While it is important to protect oneself from the infectious disease, getting a day-dream of life going topsy-turvy could shatter the sanctity of one’s mind. The onset of the lockdown was enjoyed by many, and the first few days were relaxing and rejuvenating. But, as days pass, with the media highlighting the dwindling future ahead, it is crucial to start reflecting on the inner self.

For those who are working remotely and find it difficult to complete the tasks and think that office time was better, they should remember how much they craved to stay at home and do nothing. As if the wishes of all those people have been granted, but with stringent terms and conditions. To make the best use of the quarantine, you must think of it as a phase of life that can become fruitful if you decide to work on yourself. Below are some subtle but fundamental things you can do to make the most your isolation period and get to know yourself better.

Your relationship with self:Change your isolation to solitude and you will never be alone.” To feel isolated is forceful and debilitating, but solitude is all embracing and encompassing. The most powerful a person can grow is in silence and it can bring humongous change in life. It is time to understand your fears and know how they are holding you back from realising the greatest potential hidden inside. You can also become conscious about the things that interest you and start practicing more. This time can be utilised to create a soothing relationship with the self.

The missing connection with family and friends: Some of you have been staying away from your families for many years and the spark that was there is diminishing because of the distance and lag in communication . Your old friends, who used to be your buddies, are just contacts on the phone that rarely get dialed. Break this pattern of ignorance and start afresh. Talk to your family and friends, ask their whereabouts, and rekindle the bond. Remember, in the end only the tested bonds last.

Your personal growth over the years: It has been decades of hard work, appraisals, late night project reports and more and you never had time to work on personal goals, create a bucket list and only think about yourself. In the race of accomplishment and climbing the success ladder, the fundamental goal of life is left out and once you are at the top, you might repent for not looking after your personal needs. Analyse and prospect what were the things you wanted to do only for yourself and how passionate you were to learn and execute. It is time to retest the unfulfilled desires and take a leap of faith to unlearn and relearn.

The happiness quotient: Your career accomplishments do not define your happiness and contentment. It depends on your outlook towards life and how you perceive changes. It can be related to how content you are even with the fine things. Workout on your happiness quotient in this phase and analyze if you need to alter anything in life to feel the joy of living.

The inner balance: Inner balance means, a stability in emotional, physical and psychological needs of a person. Do you get easily drawn towards somebody without getting to know them better, get panicked when you face challenges and cannot take a stern decision about your life? These questions can help you check if your needs are in balance. It is utmost important that you sort out any tangled, unresolved and stuck emotions and give them a way of resolutions. Take your time and observe your behavior and try to revamp yourself in the lockdown period.

In a few days, this phase will pass and you will be back to normal, the same routine will set in and you might feel better but you can utilise this time to upgrade yourself and become a better version, work towards your interest and know yourself better.
