#WhyIWrite: The Freedom YKA Gives To Its Writers Has Brought Me Here

This blog will be my second post on #YKA, but technically, it’s the first blog because from here, my journey as a writer, a blogger begins.

Humans always tend to express and convey their thoughts to others. If we look at our history, we can  see that our ancestors didn’t have a proper language to communicate back then. But they did try to express what they felt, thought and went through, through scribbles and wall paintings. A classic example of this dates back to 64,000 years ago, which was the Paleolithic Era. I think they were the first bloggers who documented a part of their living for the coming generations.

After the invention of paper, humans became unstoppable. We have documented and preserved everything since then. From theories to fictions to myths to everything! The invention of the electronic medium inspired more people to write and read. The art of writing made us familiar with our history and united every civilization, by bringing them closer.

Writing is simpler than other gestures of conveying the message to others. It is pure thought, which can be easily interpreted by another. But the catch here is, the other must be literate enough to decode the language in which it is written. English as a language is widely popular in today’s era and can be understood by a significant number of people around the globe.

I was always interested in writing; I have written prose, poetry and also a drama at an early age. But as I grew older, I lost the interest. Then I met a person named Basanta Nirola. He knew me for a long time, but I came to know about him because of his writings. We became familiar soon and family sooner. Since then, he has been guiding me in all the aspects of life.

He once urged me to write a blog for his Blogspot, and it was loved by all. This was enough to spark the ignition inside of me to start writing, but I didn’t have a computer back then, I promised him and myself that when I get a computer, I’ll start writing, and here I am today!

He was the one who introduced me to YKA. I created an account here a while ago but didn’t write anything other than participating in a contest. That post has 406 views and 183 upvotes, and it was published on 7th June 2019. Though I haven’t written anything since then, I frequently visit the site and read posts from other writers, and I’m always fascinated by them because of the raw and true content, which is not misleading or fake. And also because of the freedom this platform provides to its writer and readers.

After all is said, this is how I begin my journey here.
