#PeriodPaath: Let’s Discuss Mensuration Cycle

Representational image.

I am from Bihar district Jamui. I would like to highlight some things which are very important to us. Firstly the stigma attached that don’t talk about this. society treats this like this is a disease and if anyone has the disease then you should far away from this. In my society menstruation is a disease, because they are not aware of this. during this they are not allowed to go temple and take showers, don’t touch pickles and even in many communities, it’s not allowed to bath. One most important thing is that in Jamui there are poor people who can’t afford pads. They don’t use clean clothes. They used dirty clothes and did not dry in the sun. so it’s totally unhygienic. In society, its stigma attached that you are impure if you are mensurating, On today’s date, it is very important to become healthy, because of the less knowledge or lack of conversation they don’t understand what is mensuration and how it’s related to our health. awareness is one thing which should be done . It’s done by organizing workshops, campaigns, and starting to have a dialogue. Pads price is high which is not affordable by average income people . if the price will be reduced and also to understand how to make clothes pads. It really works for them.
