Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government has announced a 21-day lockdown across India to protect the citizens from the risk of getting infected or infecting others. We are well aware of the healthcare system of our country and the possible challenges it could face if the number of Covid-19 cases keeps increasing.
So, our citizens must empathise in this situation as one will not just get infected alone, but also make the entire community vulnerable. The healthcare workers who are working to fight the virus should be provided with necessary equipments. For preparedness, we need sufficient number of ventilators, isolation wards, expanded test centers, masks, sanitisers etc.
Eminent personalities from corporates to the film industry should aid the government with donation. The other side of this lockdown is that it has triggered problems in the lives of daily wage earners. People from economically backward classes, both in urban and rural areas, are facing a crisis. I request the respective social work departments to spread awareness of Covid-19 and provide them with basic groceries and amenities. Few apps and authentic donation platforms should be opened digitally so that the common public can donate for the same.
