Poetry: Love In The Midst Of A Catastrophe

I don’t know where did this deadly thing came from,
But when it came, it took a lot of lives.
It separated a mother from child,
It separated a brother from his sister,
It separated old loved ones from young loved ones,
It separated friends,
It separated a father from his child, a child from parents.
It separated students from schools, colleges, universities.
It separated the poor from bread.
It tore apart the lives of two lovers.
Dear COVID-19,
You are lethal,
You are a devastator,
You are stone-hearted,
Your soul is as black as black coffee.
But I swear
Love is the cure,
Hope, love, prayer, patience, faith and sacrifice are the only warriors against you.
I see,
Faith, prayer, patience, hope, sacrifice, love are your destroyers,
I require the love that’s made of fire.
You lose before love, you lose
You lose trying to separate the couples in love,
It’s love
Yes, it’s love
Through which they together left this world.
Of course, it’s love
Through which they together came back from the last breath.
Oh yes, it will be love before which you need to surrender.
Stay home. Stay safe.
