Why are most of India’s broker journalists are not like NDTV journalists?

NDTV is one of the few channels in India who dares to speak truth in front of authority. This is something the media is expected to do.

Do anyone remember that episode where NDTV journalist Nidhi Razdan interviewed BJP’s spokesperson Sambit patra?

Before anyone of you start judging me, let me make it clear that I am not a pro BJP, all I have tried below is to give you some truths which are kind of hard to accept.

Coming back to that interview, somewhere in between the debate,

Nidhi Razdan( reading the two lines from the letter he wrote about cattle ban, started yelling at him,

(Below is not the real conversation, it’s something along the lines of what happened)

“Is this your ideology? Is this how much you value the democracy?”

For which Mr. Patra told,

“ So you haven’t read the whole letter? If you had read, you wouldn’t have asked me this question. You got prejudiced just by reading the opening two lines.” also he said the following “ your channel seems to have slight inclination towards Congress party”

For which Nidhi Razdan became a fireball and told him to get out of her studio. For which Mr. Sambit said “ you are the one who called me for my opinion ,so you will throw me out just because I said something you didn’t like?”

In-between this argument, she took a break and when we came back Mr. Sambit was gone. May be her bouncers hurled him out. Just the next day NDTV Head Prannoy Roy house was raided by income tax department. Question is not why it was raided, rather why wasn’t he raided till now?

Why, you ask? Read along.

Throwing some light on History of NDTV…

‘Godi Media’ was coined by The Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Ravish Kumar for Arnab and Co. ‘Godi’ in Hindi or Lapdog in English. He inherently spoke of the lap of the ruling government (Modi) and the lapdogs: Zee News, Times Now, Republic, Aajtak, ABP News, Sudarshan News…list is ever lasting.

The reasons for calling it lapdogs is precisely for the nature of the “lapdogs”. To win affection of its master and enjoy perks. When you turn on the television to realize that there are three kinds of journalism rampant in Indian television sets today:

And here’s why most of Indians don’t like NDTV. Needless to say, they are solely interested in making money out of someone else’s misery.““99.99 per cent of Indian media is ‘Godi Media’, doing ‘chamchagiri’ of Narendra Modi, showing ‘bakwas’…. TV is making a fool of you, brainwashing you with bogus debates and propaganda”: please careful
