Ironically, this deadly coronavirus has given valuable life lessons to humankind.
The devastating coronavirus outbreak has taken away 33,993 lives so far which is a huge loss to the countries, the economies or the whole world. But I am sure that there are certainly some people from all over who have looked upon the brighter side of this pandemic.
The pandemic which forced us to stay with our family, the pandemic which not only healed our mother earth but also showed how selfish and irresponsible we humans are. Earlier, the pollution levels were drastically rising, but we didn’t stop. In 2019, WMO reports acknowledged the rise in the global temperature of the earth by 1.1°C but we didn’t stop then also.
If I am writing about how this deadly virus is positively affecting our Earth, how can I not write about our environment which is healing? Also, the fact that now the hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica is continuing to recover. How I can I do not mention the reports which suggest that the pollution levels across the globe are dramatically decreasing? This is not what something that we were ready to do, this is what the Coronavirus outbreak has made us do.
I am lighting a candle in the veil of the lockdown which is being imposed in the majority of countries of the world. I am talking about some of the lessons which we are learning from this situation. This pandemic has not only taught us to take care of ourselves, rather it has taught us to take care of other human beings too. What an irony? A deadly virus has planted the true meaning of humanity once again in humans which was earlier not seen by humans at all.
The virus has made people grateful for the things which they never cared for. Well, someone has said rightly, “Like every coin has two sides; everything has two sides – positive and negative.” The decision is ours – whether to learn some lessons from this situation or to get ready for another pandemic in the following years.
