It’s not about Corona

Corona Virus. Global Pandemic. Lockdown. Masks and sanitizers. Virtual classes. None of it was anticipated; we collectively walked on to this path. Our mindless race for getting a good job, promotions, wealth, and fame seems funny now. We – the shameless creatures – assaulted nature until it could not take it anymore. I would be so mad if we still claim to be the ‘supreme’ species on this planet. I am not an expert on evolution or afterlife, but I sense that we failed humanity, and failed miserably. Visibility of shining stars at night, or Dhauladhar range from Jalandhar, or clean air is a full-proof that sometimes doing nothing can mean doing a lot. Nature is healing with human inactivity.

I know being at home is tough. It has brought in light various experiences which were unheard and unusual (I wish I could talk about them too). I know people who have aced in their academic and professional lives while staying at home was an escape from negativity, stress, and anxiety.  As much as it is comforting to be at home, it brings discomfort also. The discomfort of having nothing else to do but face your reality and challenge yourself to accept, embrace or change it.

Okay, after two paragraphs of talking about my random everyday thoughts, I will come to the point. I know it is a deadly disease and all we can do at this time is be careful. Instead of treating this situation as a reason to discriminate, practice kindness and support. Smiling does not spread the virus, but a bit of positivity.
