Are things going right or wrong? In what sense we are talking about? Is the above question related to our lives? If so, then how?

Is the discussion on that very topic is necessary? Well, we can discuss the matter and make its solution possible. No matter how educated we are, how much authority we have, the only thing that matters is how much authority we have regarding our own life to make it a serving soul both for us and our Nation. But what will happen if this very authority gets seized or somewhat controlled by others?

The Current Scenario

The lockdown period is going on in our country. It has been on since March 24, 2020, and we have no idea that till when it will continue. Yes, it is very true and terrifying that this virus (COVID-19) has covered the whole nation under the arms. Many have been infected by the pandemic and many haven’t. Many are still facing this and struggling with this. But many are away from the very infection of this pandemic. Now there is a question. Will it be fair when those who are away from that also can be harmed due to the situation created by it.

Now, it is necessary and also important to struggle against this by implementing several means as possible. But at the same time, a question arises in every mind that does the benefit arriving from the precautionary measures taken by the government hamper many other lives too.

People are struggling and finding a way to protect themselves from one trouble but they have no idea that the other is following them if they want to get away from the one trouble. They are living in a democratic country but the situation has become so bad that they can’t make their own decision even for their food, their shelter, and their thoughts.

Side Effects

We have taken this step of lockdown in the entire country for the very sake of our citizens. But it is still a matter of debate whether its benefits exceed its drawbacks and vice versa. The situation is so challenging that the people have lost their confidence and the only thing that our from their mouth is “How we will manage our livelihood?”

Also, what will be the worth of it if people die because of hunger and food scarcity instead of dying from the very virus. Yes, it sounds tough but it is very true and needed to understand.

The Journey

Initially, people started flying from their working town to hometown. The rush in public transport like aircraft, trains, buses, etc. was so high that those who were not infected may get infected due to that. Taking the uncontrollable situation in mind, the government performed its responsibility through their authority. But they never thought that the situation divides the people of the nation into two categories.

Yes, two categories.

  1. The Rich are in manageable conditions as they have saved resources. Although there is a problem that exists there as well, it is tolerable.
  2. The Poors, the larger percentage of the society, managed their livelihood on a daily wage basis. They have no savings at all. At present, they are dependent on government help and support.

The Consequences

A very harsh situation has been already created both by this pandemic and its vicious cycle, where there is the ocean on one side and death on another. The very important thing that the government could do is to assure the citizens that they won’t face food scarcity and it should then work on its implementation. And the very thing that the people of the nation could do is to maintain their hope and belief in the government and God.

The statement stated above “How will we manage our livelihood” is the voice of the poor who have been reduced to this further due to the pandemic.  I hope the gap and the distinction created will narrow soon.
