What This ‘Time Of Crisis’ Is Teaching Us

We are going through a very tough time right now. The coronavirus outbreak has brought most of the advanced countries to a standstill—whether it is China, Italy, or the US. Most of the countries are trying their level best to fight this outbreak as they are completely locked down, including India. The streets of Times Square in New York are deserted. Never thought we would see such a day! No doubt that the world economy has gone down. The whole world is facing an economic crisis. But the fact is that a coin has two sides. We should look at both sides rather than just one. Because of the lockdown in the virus-affected countries, no industrial waste, pollutants are being produced by the manufacturing plants, because of which the air quality in China and India has improved in the past few weeks from the severe category. Along with that, there is a decrease in noise pollution too. The health experts are talking about social distancing because of which people are spending quality time with their families. Involving themselves in creative hobbies like painting is good for them. People are becoming more health-conscious, realizing that health is wealth. Men are helping women in daily domestic chores. This time of crisis is teaching us how to stay together, what is the value of life, including how costly carelessness can be. The country like India that was facing Delhi riots a few weeks back reunited on 22nd March to appreciate the efforts of the doctors, nurses and the police who are working day and night to make sure we are safe. If we all come together, coronavirus can be defeated.
