Indian Education Cuts Off Your Wings And Expects You To Fly

First, we need to understand the precise and accurate meaning of education. Education means facilities to learn the difference between right and wrong, good or bad, knowledge of content around you, best use of things, sharing, and execution of ideas and knowledge for betterment in all ways.

Methods:

1. Teaching

2. Training

3. Storytelling

4. Self-learning

5. Freedom to do

Each technique above has a significant role in raising a child. But in India, the first method, i.e., teaching is given priority and is in practice. Since childhood, we learn exclusively what is taught. Parents send a child forcefully to playschool at the age of efflorescence and the golden period of life where they determine what God already stored in their ROM like eating, playing, walking, etc.

Do animal babies go to school to learn these above activities? The point is that at the age of 3, parents cut off a child’s wings, and in following standards, parents expect from them to fly high.

In our country, a student is sent to school only to study books and score good marks. Priority is given to marks, not education. For our education system, a good education means high marks, a high salary job, and much respect in society. The education system is based more on the faculty in this scenario than parents as parents are also not much educated, thus destroying a student’s life. Parents’ expectations and the burden of books kill all their freedom of living life, thoughts, and ideas. A student is unable to recognise their own interest and path, a few students find their way, but they are not allowed to follow it due to social and parenting pressure. They follow the parents’ dream and keep struggling. They have no space for themselves. The true ethics and responsibilities of a student are never brought into practice by our education system. Our education system is limited up to theory only. Practical aspects of the theory are not pragmatic at all. In India, practical classes start from 10th standard. A student does know the basics and physical meaning of theory. Practical labs are limited to inspection only.

These inadequacies pile up slowly in the long term. Last, a student is surrounded by stress, unemployment and lack of skill and opportunity. In this way, our young and talented students get diverted from their path.

Indian parents should not impose absurd things like job and societal pressure. Please let them free to grow with their own ideas. Let them fly. Just guide and love them. Our education system should not be marks and job oriented. There is much need to switch from theory-oriented education to practical oriented. And reduce the book and exam load. Spend time to understand the relevant things than scoring in papers. Bring cheerfulness in their life than distress.
