The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) told the Supreme Court that the board exams for class 10th and 12th students, which had been scheduled from July 1, has been cancelled.
On June 25, the CBSE informed the Apex Court that students have two options: they either can choose for postponement of the exam or opt for grading based on internal assessment of the last three exams.
Moreover, Supreme Court enquired about the schedule of postponed exams and declaration of the result, and how a new session would begin in September without the declaration of results. The Supreme Court said that it can start in September only if the board results are announced in August. The CBSE said that students can apply for internal assessment and results will be announced soon. The board also said that the academic year will be shifted for the 2020-21 session, as reported by NDTV.
The Supreme court has also ordered various state boards to come conclusive plans to conduct exams.
Many netizens took to twitter and expressed their thoughts under the hashtag #CBSE.
Rahul, a Twitter user, expressed his dismay at the revocation of exams. He said, “(Sic)No exams must not be cancelled at any cost. The student’s future will be compromised. Students who find it happy news will regret when they understood important to tenth & twelfth class marks. Teenagers are happy but ask your elder, it will be a big tragedy for your future.”

Another was concern that the cancellation of board exams would direct impact various exams including the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
A twitter user, Samra Khan, said, “(Sic)Clear the air filled with confusions with a proper decision on NEET and JEE. We, students, can’t wait and can’t take more tension regarding this matter.”
