medical negligence- is it an act of god or human?

This was the old lady who lied dead on the toilet for 8 days

Doctors are known as the saviour. They are the human version of god because they save people from various diseases, accidents. They are worshiped by many but what happens when a negligence by a doctor occurs. In this Covid time we are more fortunate to doctors because leaving everything they are risking their life to save us. But is it true about every doctor or medical staff? Medical negligence is not a new thing it has been there always, doctor or medical staff negligence has taken life of various people and its actually sad. As the whole world is suffering from Covid -19 pandemic, India has reached its positive patient count to around 3 lakhs. Things are turning to worse with Delhi being not able to provide beds to its patient to various patients being not looked upon properly. As the cases are rising the negligence of doctors and medical staff are also increasing. We know and we understand it is being difficult for the whole medical staff team of a hospital to take care of each and every patient but one thing that needs to be clear is that proper care is the only way to fight this virus to stop it from spreading. Private hospitals are charging so high from the patients that it has become difficult for them to treat their family members specially the middle class people. And as beds in government hospitals are not available private hospital is the only option left to people as no one can leave their family to die.

The very recent case of medical negligence occurred in Jalgaon, where a family was being devastated as their grand mother was a covid positive patient who was missing and was later found dead in the hospital toilet.  Harshal first lost his mother due to covid as she waited for six hours to be provided with a bed in Jalgaon Civil hospital and later hi grandmother was found dead in a hospital toilet the body was partially decomposed when found. The body was being found after 8 days, when asked about his grandmother the medical staff said that she had walked away she was an 82 years old lady, none of the hospital workers even looked for the old lady. The body laid there for eight days until the patients in the same cubicle reported of stench which was unbearable now. After various patients complaining the toilet door was broken by the staffs and the body of the old lady was found.

News like this shatter the trust of public in the system. Many cases were reported where patients died due to shortage of breath. The medical system should become more active and supportive to the covid patients as in a situation like this it is necessary for the safety and well being of the patients. Old people needs to be given more attention these neglecting situation that occurred in Jalgaon district could also happen in some other hospital it is important to look after them.
