At The Age Of 20, This Prodigious Filmmaker Has made 5 Films And Won Awards

Beginning his filmmaking journey at the age of 15 as an actor, Gokul Konar is an inspiring filmmaker. His short film Gubbara was selected in the ninth CMS International Children’s Film Festival, 2017. He was also awarded by the SIES College of Arts and Science. He also made an appearance as an actor in another short film Litter. At the age of 17, Gokul decided to switch to filmmaking.

Gokul Konar is currently 20 years old and has already achieved a lot in his life. He expresses his talent not only as a filmmaker but also as a model, photographer and food blogger. He recently directed a short film Nasha. His film Lift was screened in the United States and at Pinewood Studios in England. Gokul has earned the Best Director title at the Ambedkar College in Chembur, Mumbai.

Being such a phenomenal talent, Gokul is seen as an inspiration by film students and strugglers. When asked about his filmmaking experience so far, Gokul said, “Filmmaking is not easy as you think. You have to work a lot you on this field. You have to be dedicated. You must love what you do. You must always follow your passion.”

Gokul expresses his talent not only as a filmmaker but also as a model, a photographer and a food blogger.

When this inspiring individual was asked about what inspires him, Gokul replied, “My brother Sunder Konar is an inspiration for me. He has always supported me. He has worked in the Bollywood film industry as an assistant director in movies Kaabil, Dream Girl, Toofan and many more.”

Born in a middle class family, Gokul did not spend a penny on gaining knowledge and learning the technicalities of film direction. He learned the art of filmmaking from his brother and from digital media. He has always had a knack for bagging movies with good budgets. Surely, we will soon see him casting big celebrities and at better locations.

With his impeccable directorial skills, Gokul promises to show his audience the power of passion. At the age of 20, Gokul has created more than five short films and thus achieved a prolificity that many directors struggle to achieve.

It took Gokul no time to cultivate a fandom around himself. His films end with immensely meaningful messages. His filmmaking is emotive and visionary. With more than 550,000 views on his YouTube channel, Gokul is definitely one of the upcoming filmmakers of his industry right now and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for the future!
