What Does AIMIM’s Expansion Mean For Bihar Politics?

Unsurprisingly, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM has currently made things utterly obvious by announcing candidates for 32 seats in the ensuing Bihar assembly elections more than three months away. Either the RJD or the Congress party are currently holding dominance on the seats. The Muslim population in these constituencies are sufficiently higher.

It is not difficult to acknowledge with this robust opinion. From one seat that was won at the Kishanganj byelection, the AIMIM is now looking at a broader and brighter expanse in the Bihar state politics that runs on a casteist vote bank without any doubt. Will Owaisi rise like Bakhtiyar bin Khilji did through the battle of ballots?

Some emphatically say that this Hyderabad-based party gives fertile ground to the ruling party in Bihar to win the coming elections, but the AIMIM does never accept this argument. There are people who indicate that the AIMIM has not yet established itself strongly on ground level. It cannot win the election on its own strength.

However, it appears ready to connect with other political aspirants in the State. Will it be able to reach its goal with the help of like-minded parties? Though the mood of other local leaders is not quite clear at this point of time, there is a solid indication in this regard. The party’s intention to fight in as many as 22 districts was compactly cleared. It is surely not so shocking as the victory for one particular assembly seat has paved the way for the larger political pursuits.

Time will tell how far the AIMIM succeeds in its endeavour. Political experts have explained the party’s prospective move into the Hindi heartland which has come to the fore. The party, which has its vocal leader in Asaduddin Owaisi, has been plunged into a political tangle on a practical basis.

Will the party’s plunge into Bihar politics be like running into the provision store in order to scramble for a few essential items of everyday use? Though the party leaders would ignore such kind of an impression by assuming it like spam calls. However, the party stands in the political queue to test its fortune, whatever one might like to assert, the message has been sounded in a very big way. The party leaders want to read how their opponents crumple the brow while tightly glaring at the political dare thrown into the hubhub of the assembly elections in the State.
