Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, lockdown sounds like a familiar word to us. Now, people are somehow accustomed to it.
Uttar Pradesh has crossed 10,373 mark of active cases with 845 deaths so far. Concerned with the increasing number of cases in Uttar Pradesh and for state sanitization, the government has decided to impose a 55-hour-long lockdown in the state from 10 p.m. on July 10 till 5 a.m. on July 13.
Uttar Pradesh citizens must be wondering about the do’s and don’ts of this lockdown. So, this is a complete list of the rules and regulations that have come into effect since July 10.
- All the commercial establishments, markets, malls, restaurants , urban vegetable mandis, offices etc. will be completely shut down.
- Intra-state travel will be not allowed. Travelling within and outside the state would be only allowed if you have acquired the traveller e-pass.
- Private vehicles, cabs will be not allowed until you are involved in an essential service or if there is some sort of medical emergency.
- Only UPSR buses will be allowed to pick train passengers. Rest, all the city buses will be banned.
- Construction projects of highways like the Yamuna expressway will continue to function.
- Railways, flights will continue.
- Pharmacies, hospitals, grocery stores will remain open throughout the lockdown.
- While urban industries will remain closed, industries in rural area are allowed to remain open.
- National and state highways will remain open. All the petrol pumps and Dhabas along the highway will also remain open.
- Movement of people with essential services like medical staffs, home deliveries etc. will continue. They just need to show their ID card.
- Offices related to essential services will remain open.
- Police will do patrolling in every area during the lockdown to prevent any breaching of the lockdown guidelines.
- COVID-19 surveillance team will visit various homes for monitoring purposes.
On Thursday, Yogi Adityanath issued an order for 45,000 tests per day. Earlier, 35,000 tests per day were being done trace the spread of the coronavirus.
Moreover, corona cases are increasing at a faster rate in some cities of UP like Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Jhansi, Kanpur and Varanasi. Not only that, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also asked the officials to increase the awareness in people about wearing masks and social distancing practices to curb the spread of COVID-19.
