Covid-19: This NGO Of 1200 People Is Saving Nature And Humanity

With all attention focussed on the Covid-19, we forget that humans are fighting against hunger which is far worse than Covid-19. So the virus only acts as a catalyst to worsen the situation But humans are not so weak to bow down in front of this pandemic. They are struggling and trying to find out what can be done to save their families and friends. India is not an advanced country to handle the pandemic, but Indians do have a feeling of togetherness.

Big firms have come out to help people to cope up with the situation which Indians have been facing. Not only big but small and new NGOs have also come forward to support the citizen throughout the pandemic. One such NGO is Vrikshit Foundation.

Vrikshit Foundation was founded in May 2019 by a software engineer, Shankar Singh. Today, Vrikshit family includes more than 1200 volunteers. His idea of starting the NGO was to provide a healthy environment to all. They target an area and clean it within hours so that people living in nearby areas get a pure and clean environment. It takes a lot of effort and strength to come forward and clean a place.

In this time of the pandemic, they move one step ahead. When the underprivileged and poor, living in slums have been struggling to get two meals a day because of lockdown, they have provided dry ration, juice, fruits to more than 1300 families. They even went to government hospitals and distributed things to people in need. How do they do it?

The answer is that all this aid that they have provided is through crowdfunding. Each penny has been spent for the good of the people. Vrikshit Foundation also helped those who cannot speak and express their emotions but they do feel hunger. Shankar and his team to date have fed more than 20,000 stray animals and they aim to feed 1 million stray animals.

This NGO is a big dream of a young boy who thinks of changing the world not merely by talking, tweeting, or updating Facebook status but by taking action. Everybody should learn and understand that when one starts loving nature helps clean it, most of the problems automatically resolve. NGOs like Vrikshit gives hope to nature that human is still in love with it. So move forward and love Mother Nature, you are one of its parts!
