Watch “Dil Bechara” For A Poignant Tale Of Living Life To The Fullest

Dil Bechara- A Poignant Watch

The most awaited movie of late Sushant finally released online on Hotstar. The movie is based on the novel titled The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. There is no doubt that the movie shall break a few records in Bollywood, and the love for Sushant will walk all across the electronic and print media and social media platforms. As a great fan of Sushant, I got a chance to see him last time, alive, smiling and charming face, beautiful eyes, his dance, his singing voice, and above all his great acting. All I could see just last time. I could imagine his entry with audiences woos whistles and clapping (as if I was in the cinema hall).

The movie is a story of two friends Kizie Basu (Sanjana Sanghi) and Immanuel Rajkumar Junior, also known as Manny (Sushant Singh Rajput) who are suffering from a physical disability. Kizie Basu is a victim of thyroid cancer, and Manny has osteosarcoma. Even the best friend of Manny, JP (Sahil Vaid) suffers from optic nerve glaucoma. So, the movie introduced so many types of cancers to us. They all knew that their life might stop at any phase but still they laughed, they loved, they travelled, they sang, which means they did whatever they wanted to do. We kept getting reminded of the famous dialogue of Sushant/Manny that “Janam Kab Lena hai, or marna kab ha, hum decide nhi kar sakte hai par kaise jeena hai wo hum decide kar sakte hai (We cannot decide when to live or die but we can decide how to live).”

Still from the movie

Kizie Basu, an introvert girl, living with parents (Swastika Mukherjee and Saswata Chatterjee), narrates the story of herself. She is fed up with her boring lifestyle with no friends. She is a blog writer but could not get any new things to write until she meets Manny. Otherwise, she goes to churches and graveyards to find a story to write. One day, she meets Manny; before that her only best friend was Pushpinder (her gas cylinder).

Manny, a rich boy, wanted to be a basketball player but due to his osteosarcoma disease, he left his dream and started making a Bhojpuri film based on superstar Rajanikant. His only best friend JP was there with him as a cameraman or director or producer. Manny and Kizie Basu fall in love with a promise to fulfil each other’s dreams. Kizie Basu agreed to be the heroine in Manny’s movie, and Manny agreed to be her companion for Paris to meet the great singer Abhimanyu Veer (Saif Ali Khan). She met Abhimanyu Veer in Paris but got disappointed because he was not talking appropriately to her. Meanwhile, JP lost his eyes in surgery. Although they finished the movie, Manny dead. Manny, who wanted to grab every moment of life suddenly, lost his life as he lived in real life. Kizie Basu again becomes all alone.

Dil Bechara is an emotional romantic drama that leaves you with deep emotions, feelings, and a motivating message to keep fighting. There is no doubt that Sushant Singh Rajput yet again proved that he was a great actor. He went into the depth of character and performed sensitively and intensely.

Sanjana Sanghi also played a wonderful role in her debut movie as a leading actor. Her performance is really admirable. I loved Swastika Mukherjee’s acting in Paatal-Lok, and here also, she proved that she is a great actor. Saswata Chatterjee also played a good role as the father of Kizie Basu. The music of the movie is simply amazing, and why it should not be? When A R Rahman composes and Amitabh Bhattacharya writes, it is obvious to be amazing. The chemistry of leading characters is captured wonderfully in Paris.

I recommend you to watch this simply amazing movie and witness as a viewer of Sushant Singh Rajput’s last movie. The movie is streaming free on Hotstar. As a tribute to the great actor, Hotstar made it available to all.

In Loving Memory of Sushant Singh Rajput
