Faithfully yours

In a nation where the omnipresent and intangible virus has deftly swept the mass off their feet, few are dubiously roaming around the streets of Khan Market to devour a slice of New York cheese cake- because they can.Ever since the radiant month of March lost its charm and shine, all I can think of is disinfecting. Sterilize the Amazon parcels (not to ignore the hauling wait to open it), the door knobs and the most dreadful- the vegetables and fruits. Along with the obsolete dust and pollens all around me, another lacking cognition is of hope. As one day melts into another, my ability to hold together shreds of hope and faith has ebbed to a non-existent parameter.  Staying in provides a sense of calm but does not let me grow weary of my fear. As my sleep cycle went for a toss, I often find myself scrolling through the newsfeed to find a bit of sustainability, enough to get me through the restless night. A peculiar WhatsApp forward drove me to the most bizarre quest of Quarantine- what does astrology say about Covid-19? All those who had the dexterous readers pick out cards of fortune early this year, this one’s for you. As I typed those words, I could find myself conforming to the creed of a majority. Is it the faith which drove me all these years? Can the planets be at fault for a gamut of actions and reactions which have led an entire race to stand at a unilateral boulevard? After going through a couple of articles I faced the inevitable. A handful of professionals who mint money by reproducing our fears and unfulfilled desires aren’t in capacity to dictate our future. Some might see the future. They surely don’t know it. Even I don’t. Maybe the fight ends in a few months. Maybe in a year. Maybe we come to our senses and act accountably. Or maybe we keep on embracing our hope, faith and dreams like we have – by hearing it from individuals who know nothing of our craft or talent and merely transmit an age old belief.
